You get little kids for about the first 4-6yrs then they start to become independent, do their owns thigs type of people as the World tends to mold them. Use those first 4-6yrs to be a outstanding model for them and let them experience a lot of fun. My little girly just turned 6 and she's rough, tough, and rugged as they come but she still needs to be picked up, hugged, and kissed but she prefers to wrestle, fight, and be chased. To her credit she has a 9yr old brother that she adores and she follows his steps where ever he goes and not a soul better mess with her because he's watching.
Most importantly tell them you love them everyday even when you want to throat punch them.
