Haven’t heard a gobble for 3 days in north Tuscaloosa County. Place has turkeys too. Also haven’t heard a shot. Hens must be breaking up looking for nesting spots.

Went with a long time turkey hunting pal this morning. Got on one he hit the ground and came in on a string, 35-40 yards and couldn’t get a clean shot on him. Played cat and mouse with him for almost 3 hours and made a couple of moves in him. We finally got him to cooperate for a swing and miss lol. What a great hunt!!

I haven't heard a gobble yet. I've called in hens and one Jake. Maybe this warm weather will have them more fired up next weekend

Went to another property this morning after the carnage we unleashed on the farm yesterday. Spotted a long beard strutting in the edge of a clear cut and made a big loop and got in an SMZ down from him and I called a few times and he answered about 300 yards away. 15 minutes later I saw his big head bouncing along the clear cut and I clucked and he turned and walked to 20 yards. I saw four birds die in 24 hours and that’s easily the best 24 hour period in my turkey hunting life. Congrats to the other killers!

Quit rubbing it in. I’ve hunted 3 counties 5 properties and heard 3 birds one of the four mornings. I’ve never had this bad of a start to season.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

That’s the thing I love about turkey hunting, some years I can’t kill one in a zoo and others I could call one up to the Wal Mart parking lot. Stay after ‘‘em man they’ll let up!

Congrats killers - you hot General - way too go!!

I was on a silent one that never gobbled this morning - he has 6 hens and I did nothing w him. If I would hav set up where I originally planned to he would hav come to 20 yards. Just glad he is on my property - ain’t had that much last few years
