I killed at 7:45. Had four gobbling on the roost and played the game for a while. Ended up calling a whole flock of about 8 turkeys to me. Heard 4 other shots in Macon county.

Had three within range but they stayed in the woods and never got on the road to give me a clear shot so I let them walk off. Only heard one on the limb but a bird flew down close and started gobblin on the ground, these three came in drummin and gobbled when they got close but they had three hens. At one time there were 5 gobblin on the ground within 150yds of me so I wasnt about to take a questionable shot on day one right out of the gate. It as a fun 30minutes while they were all close.

Congrats to those who got one, to those that had an enjoyable hunt and got home safe, what a great morning to be in the woods. I didn't hear nor see anything, but it was better than working.

Congrats guys

Was glad to get away from work today - heard one gobble several times way across line in Marengo - thought I heard a hen 100 yards are so behind the field. Got up after 50 minutes of daylight and not working nothing

And I heard one gobble at 9 once in Clarke - that was my best spot - saving it for son and I for in morning

Dang I love when they gobble in the afternoon. Planned on taking a long walk but I yelped once from the truck at 4-30 and he answered close. Rand up to a log landing and killed him before 4:40
