I own probably a hundred or more pots and boxes and a bunch of mouth calls as well. I carry about 5 mouth calls and 2 pots and a box which rotate here and there as i feel like it. I have quite a call addiction problem among others.

I usually just carry a mouth call or three and an Old Primos Battey World Class Slate with four or five different strikers. I dont even use a vest most times. I wear one of those seats that go around your waist and you just pull it down to sit.
If I am toting a vest its loaded with calls and other stuff. A Primos Heart Breaker Box, A Quaker Boy boat paddle box, Two slates; a Battery World Class and an aluminum one, and about 15 different mouth calls. But I usually just travel light.

I use a mouth yelper 99% of the time. I’m hard up when I start pulling out pot calls or a box. I believe you do some traveling? Do you change anything in other states? I’ve never fooled with a box until I started hunting out west with Stoney and Squeaky. A box is legit on Merriams especially for locating mid day
If you want to always win, never play anyone better than you!

Probably have 50 box, pot and scratch calls; makes me realize I need to sell a few. Not so great with a mouth call; but always been pretty effective with friction calls. Usually carry a slate( an old, simple HS Strut Super Raspy is fav) , a glass(Dave Tyree Kickin' Ass Glass is fav) , a box or 2( Lynch or Camp), a Camp Mighty Owl call and a old HS Strut Single Reed Crow call. sometimes I might carry a Camp push pull.

I’ve never fooled with a box until I started hunting out west with Stoney and Squeaky. A box is legit on Merriams especially for locating mid day I don’t really do anything different. I guess maybe my first post was a bit misleading. I almost always have a pot call and box in my vest. I just don’t use them unless I have to. Like if I’m just covering ground trying to find a bird, I may pull out a box at a particular high point. But even then, I normally start with a mouth call, give it 10 minutes, then crank the box or ceramic in a last ditch effort. The birds I occasionally strike with a box or pot call, I finish them with a mouth call unless they absolutely won’t respond to it. Just a matter of my comfort level. I’ve probably only finished 5 or 6 birds with a pot call, and never with a box call.

I carry 3 Hook’s ghost cuts, a slate, an aluminum and three strikers. A lot of mornings within the first hour I’ve dropped the vest and it’s just the gun and a mouth yelper.
