If the numbers are indeed true and Putin is getting his ass kicked, can he swallow his pride pull back and not press the nuke button?

Here's a video of an APC of some sort getting opened like a can of sardines.

And another video of the Ukrainians popping off an ambush that destroyed at least one piece of armor.

Just think what a Marine or Armored Infantry division would do over there. It would be bad for the Russians. Real bad. They tangled up with us once in Syria and it ended badly for them there too.

the aircraft figure is all wet, i believe. i think the planes are standing off and launching cruise missiles. i'd cut the tank and rolling stock figures in half, and dead russians in half, and call it good. still unsustainable losses ...

and just wait till that armor gets inside the cities. Right now, they're just going thru towns, not in the big cities where that armor can't maneuver well. Infantry with AT weapons will feast, especially if the armor don't have air support.

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

Yep. Imagine being in an APC or tank rolling between a bunch of buildings with guys hiding out with Javelins.

I honestly think the young Russian troops are scared chitless to do that.

All this goes to show you what a honest to goodness peer to peer conflict looks like.

Can you even launch a javelin from inside a room?

Watched a couple videos. I would say yes if it is a big enough room. Looks like it has a brief burn on a rocket to get it out of the launch tube a few yards before the main rocket fires to propel it to its target. Might get toasty warm if fired in a confined small area.

It’s hard to believe that Russia could only support a few weeks of war. You would think they would have more stockpiles that that.

It is very weird to me too. Russsia (being a super power) should walk through them I would think.

Russia has been in a steady decline since the fall of the Soviet Union, They are resting on their Nuclear laurels… There conventional forces are obviously not what they want the world to believe. What I dont understand, where is the Russian Air Force? You would think the Air Force would be mopping up. If the Ukrainians can keep the Russian Air Force at bay, imagine what a formable opponent could do. I just dont buy the idea the Russians are sandbagging. They are just taking too many losses for to long to be holding back.

Heard earlier that Russia and Belarus have made a decision to stop trading oil on the US dollar. True or not I have not heard. There are so many things at play here besides shooting little anohnny and taking land

I agree. I discussed the air power issue in another thread and I think it's due to several reasons.

1. Russian pilots just don't get that much flying time. Apparently due to budget constraints. So maybe collectively they just aren't that good.
2. When they do fly they do not fly complex air packages, which are required to suppress enemy air defenses.
3. Because of 1 & 2, Ukrainian air defenses are mostly intact. Including a wealth of brand new shoulder fired Stinger missiles donated by the Western Alliance.
4. Because of 1, 2, & 3 the Russians are skeerd of flying into Ukraine, especially in the daylight hours.

I agree about the sandbagging too. If they were sandbagging they wouldn't be asking Chechnya, Belarus and Syria for fighters, and they wouldn't be asking China for military and financial aid.

China should have told them back during the Olympics, "Sure, do what you want, but don't come running to us when you start getting your ass kicked."
