Question for Matt Brock: Does annual rainfall impact turkey harvest numbers in the same way that it does the deer??? loco

How about this…….I’ll make you a deal……How about I do the calculations and make up the different maps and then I’ll send them to you and you post them up in the turkey forum???.....I just feel like it may be better received that way.

Well, I would imagine that with the turkey numbers we probably have at least 3 years worth of pretty decent data to look at and make comparisons of and produce maps and graphs and pie charts from……and right now I have no idea what the data is gonna show……It may show the exact opposite of what some folks want to believe is happening and if it does they will say the data doesn’t means anything and is all bulldoodoo…..For some reason, just call it a hunch…..I think they will be less likely to do that if you present the findings.

A lost bet is not a lifestyle choice. It’s a one and done and never again.

I haven't been paying that close attention, I got this one on my cell camera that is watching one of my feeders. They don't seem to be to interested in whats coming out of it, more interested in the clover.

What variable changed from this green area over the course of 2020-2021 that caused the difference compared to areas like in red??? Is it weather related again??

I wonder how much the timing of people burning is impacting things??...It looks like a lot of the areas with the highest fluctuations are counties where the most prescribed burning takes place......Most folks don’t burn until after deer season is over and then its dependent many times upon waiting until its dry enough and you get lots folks burning within small time windows…….That’s another aspect to consider with “weather” being the possible culprit. It would be interesting to look at each months rainfall totals for that year and see if there is any correlation that would match.
