The incidences of CTE and brain damage in MMA have to be tremendous. Between the physical pounding, and the insane training methods to cut weight and put it back on, along with whatever else they're taking, has to take quite a toll.
Plus, just all the aggressiveness and adrenaline. That stuff doesn't just flip on and off like a switch. Reminds me of watching The Hurt Locker with Jeremy Renner, about the detonation teams.
We often shrug off mental issues, mental disease, PTSD and whatever associated as "Eh, ok. Suck it up." but it's quite real and far more pervasive than we realize. MMA fighters know what the risks are but damn, it has to be a high level for CTE and brain damage.
