Back in college I had a job waiting tables at a mexican restaurant here in Montgomery. I was closing up one night and cleaning the coffee pots with a mixture of salt, ice, and lemon juice. I was swirling them around and hit the stainless steel table and it shattered. It cut my left wrist very deeply and I was bleeding like crazy! I had this big triangle flap of skin just hanging. The manager was like, here just wrap it up. So being the niave teenager I was, I just did what I was told and put all these band-aids on it. I remember asking him if I needed to go have stiches but he said nah, it's not that bad. Well it wasn't healing up so I went to the doctor a few days later. He told me that it definitely needed stiches but it had been over 24 hours and they could not suture it now and it just had to heal on it's own. Little did I know that the manager was trying to keep from having to make a claim for workman's comp and to keep his premiums from increasing. Live and learn and I have a nice scar on my hand/wrist area to remind me of that incident.
