Nothing this am. Last afternoon hunt of season for me now. On a buddy’s place in a shooting house on a plot we call the runway. It’s a 600 yard long dogleg right plot. Saw a doe and yearling in another plot walking to this one.

I decided to do an all day sit, I am the only one on 2500 acres. I have been in the stand since 6am…. I did not bring food Well, chit. I take a snack if I’m going for an hour…..

Stephens behind the house on doe patrol also. We haven’t hunted that field in over a month so maybe one will ease thru. All the rest will be above him on the top field where the corn is.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Man I slept in this am. Feeling a little run down as Ive been hunting my land and a club since 12/25 and have not been back home in over a month.   Then my wife left this am to go home for a few days and I ended up taking a "Nap" and woke up at 3:05 and still feel exhausted. Going to chill at the camp and eat some Venision Burritos and watch some Yellowstone reruns sipping Titos. Best thing is this deer season I hunted hard toting a pack and lost 35 pounds! Down to 173! Havent been that thin since I was 45. Feel a lot better, blood pressure way down. This retirement thing is kind of fun. And healthy. Ill be back after them in the am . Good luck guys and post up some pics. Still I am looking out the back windows for that big buck my wife has been after behind the house now that she is gone! Ive got his pics and he is a STUD.

Quiet as a church mouse here. Them big milk does done moved thru here.....I coulda capped all of em....Buncha buttonheads and broke up bucks hungry for food around here.....My little poodle ran 5 off last nite at 11 under this wateroak in the yard.....I need a Cornfundme acct...

This whole season has been off. My son killed 2 nice deer early in season. That’s all that really matters. I was hoping to get a shot at one of 3 deer I was eyeballing. This season hasn’t gone like the 3 seasons prior since I have had the place. I definitely enjoyed every hunt whether they produced or not. I just enjoy the time with my son afield.

Well the 8 that Austin should have killed this morning is on his third appearance now. She just got back from softball practice so he will live another week. Unless he screws up and walks down the hill.
