I was out at the Shot Show and spent some time in the Meopta booth. They have come out with a new scope. The Meosport 3-15x50 Illuminated. It comes in only one reticle right now the 4C.30mm Tube. The scope has a lot of great features for a scope that MSRP's at $449. Bright glass, real clear edge to edge. You will probably see this scope in the $399 range. I know alot of yall like Meopta so i thought i would let you know.

I’ve been following this one and it looks very promising.

Is the reticle the exact same as the current 4c?

I saw that also but that has to be a typo. The old Nikon Buckmasters had 90% light transmission if my memory is correct.

The Meosport supposedly has the the same glass as the Optika 5 line but I’ve never looked through one of those. I love Meopta optics but the Optika 6 & 5 are far from aesthetically pleasing.

I haven't seen the data that says, 80% light transmission. I just got my hands on one Fri , mounted it up yesterday and I am impressed. The fit and finish are top-notch. The glass is clear and bright as you would expect from a company like Meopta. I did not get it out in the evening to compare my Optika5/6 scopes, but I did think the brightness and clarity at 2 PM were equivalents between the Optika5 and MeoSport. I didn't pull a 6 out. For hunters, this scope is going to check a lot of boxes and value is always at the top of my list. The rifle is a .300 WM that was just restocked and glass bedded. The power ring has been redone and there is plenty of bolt clearance.

How’d you get one so fast?

It is just like the illuminated 4C. The center dot is red. I do some freelance work with Meopta and knew the right person to grovel to. I really am impressed with the features this scope has and I have a feeling it is going to be a big seller for Meopta.

Thanks for the info! I agree this should be a huge seller as it basically has zero competition at that price point. I really wish they’d thrown in a Mil-based usable reticle though. Then it’d essentially be a Vortex Razor LHT HD for half the price. Not sure I fully trust the tracking on a sub $500 scope.

I will let you know how my range day and hunt go. I have never had an issue with any of Meopta's scopes not tracking. I don't expect this one to be any different. You can always find someone to say they had a problem with a particular optic no matter what the price point is. I have come across 2 people who complained about Optika6 scopes, but when I reached out to them they went silent. My thought is, if I have a problem and someone reaches out to me to help me out, I'm going to take them up on their offer. The MeoSprt R 3-15x50 RD is a hunting scope first and foremost. I do agree that a different or the addition of a BDC reticle would have increased the flexibility of this scope.

The weight of the optika line versus the equivalent Leupold is what made me get into the Leupold family. Curious as well, but I think he already mentioned it was a stripped down optika, so it's probably heavy as a brick.

The weight is 23 ounces. Adjustments are .1 mrad/click = .36 inches/click. 26 MRAD or 90 MOA of elevation adjustment. Parallax adjustment goes down to 10 meters.
