Any of the aldeer brain trust remember that for years the state claimed there was 1.5 million deer in Alabama? I’m thinking they were full of — Now after the statewide slaughter of does there are even fewer. And to top it off every Tom Dick and Jane with 7 acres puts out a corn pile and kills one every time they see one day and night. Oh I know they are just trying to feed the family.

What about this extended season ahi- that’s become the normal thing. I understand south Alabama but draw the line like the original line below 80 and stop the 31st. Just gives more people time to mess up. But oh wait Alfa wants every deer in the state dead and they have the politicians in their pockets

A state estimate of 1.25 to 1.5 million deer in 2020 (about 1.4 million). An estimate from the state of 1.5 to 1.75 (about 1.63) million deer in 2019. An estimated 1.5 million deer in 2017, about the same as the estimated 2016 population of 1.5 to 1.7 million, trending down since 2000 because of pressure from predators, habitat change, and hunting. The significant increase in the deer kill in 2020, 145,000 up from 90,000 in 2019, was largely attributed to the increase in hunters as a result of COVID-19. Two years of good rainfall contributed to a population increase.

And don’t get me started on the federal mismanagement of waterfowl but On a good day im seeing a little over half what i would have two years ago. All kinds of things could be at play, i guess. I still see plenty of deer.

Had 5 different bucks at the field I was on this morning no shooters, never before seen 5 during a sit, haven't shot one in 2 years though including does

It's all estimates from behind a desk. No sense in them doing all the changes on dates of seasons. Why bother with something that has worked for years. Our DCNR is like Biden and his pen. I refuse to accept the turkey season change and some may disagree with me. Don't get me wrong we have just a select few that needs to go but its not gonna happen.

I hunt quite a bit and have seen 8 or 9 while hunting....luckily I killed a decent one and could've shot a nice 6 but I was given 2 big deer so didn't have to... I used to could see some everytime I went n I ain't killed a doe in 8 years

I saw 2 8 points , a 4pt , 2 spikes, and 3 does today.
More bucks than does. Last year I saw more bucks than does. We have way more bucks than does on all of our cameras this year.
There is no freaking way there are still 1 million deer in Alabama. There probably were way more than a million 15 years ago.
This was all done on purpose for some reason. Somebody had an agenda to cut the deer by over 50 percent. With the complaints I hear from everyone I know that hunts, there is no way Chuck and his biologist don’t hear it too.
