Funny, I have two rifles exactly the same. I shoot the 223 99% of the time. When I move to the 308 its just like I never changed. Other than the difference in dialing up. Those 6mm's have a TON of support by the bullet manufacturers, not a bad way to go. Thats one of the reasons I like a .308 (in any cartridge) is that there is so many different weights and designs that can be used accross the board. Just easy to find something that works. .243 is very similar, to me.
