Well, had planned to hunt all week last week. Went to our camp on Monday and honestly didn't even hunt but an hour Tuesday afternoon it was so hot. Saw a couple of bucks at night but nothing else. Didn't hunt the rest of the week due to weather (rain in north bama and too hot in south). My brother then goes to our camp yesterday am and said the woods came alive after the cold front. He almost got a shot at a nice big 8 in the swamp while watching turkeys and hearing hogs. I got everything ready for my last hunting trip of the season with friends down at our camp next Wednesday through Sunday. I will be hunting hard to contribute as this may be the first year I haven't killed a nice buck/deer in years. Maybe I can score for us.

I haven't hunted much in the last month or so but I'm getting back after it this weekend. Gonna hunt around the house Sat and Sun then get everything ready to go hunt in Florida for four days next week.

I started hunting today around 1p until after 4. Had 5 nice Tom visit and those squirrels who act like Deer roaming around.

Shot the biggest buck of my life this am only to not find it. Let my buddy shoot my deer rifle and I took myar15 to the woods and of course he steps out. Shot at 50 yards but no blood as my 55gr hollow point prolly buried in him and he’s bleeding internally. I’m absolutely sick. Looked for hours and nothing.

Man i hate to hear that. Brings back memories for me too. I lost the biggest buck i have ever shot. Got blood and still lost him.

Didn’t call a dog due to circumstances. I learned a valuable lesson as to not go out without my rifle again. That afternoon, I told my buddy I’m taking my rifle as I had realized our other friend brought an extra rifle. Well as I was sitting up in the stand sulking and had just peed, two does came out and here comes a mature 6 point that I killed at 60 yards! Lol talk about a roller coaster of a day!

Thanks man! It definitely changed the season around forsure and on the last hunt weekend I had left as well. Losing the big one still hurts though.

I'm done for the year but glad I shook the bad juju off. Good Lord has blessed me incredibly with another fun year in the woods! Now onto the real hunting season here in the spring...lol
