Yesterday I walked out into a 60+ acre clear cut that was harvested this summer. About 30 yards off a road that runs through the middle of the cutover was about a dozen grains of corn in a spot about 4” in diameter. They were pale like they had been soaked, but with the weather I guess they were.

How did they get there ? Several hundred yards from any property line and no tracks from humans. There are a coutof feeders on the property but again, no where close to the site.

Any chance a deer or other animal puked the corn up ?

I saw the same a few weeks ago. Only difference was the corn was on top of a stump. Probably wasn't enough to call a handful.

I threw a bag on the rack of my jeep that had a hole in it. People are gonna be seeing deer all over the main road back dirt roads and all the way to the property I was hunting. I bet people are thinking that someone is trying to outlaw and poured corn right down the middle of the road

Squirrels, Crows, and Yotes will do things like that. Buzzards will also leave puke piles like that around.

I don't know about other animals, but a lot of it will pass through cows sometimes. I would imagine coons and totes would do the same thing and the heavy rains washed the crap away.

Crows for sure. They put little piles in my yard when I was feeding deer in my back yard.

Crows make sense, there’s always a bunch in the clear cut

We have pecan trees on our place and I'll find pecans hundreds of yards away from the trees. No way they could have rolled there or been carried by the wind. As others have mentioned, animals or birds are the likely answer to your questions.
