The underside and how it is growing looks like an oyster, but the top doesnt look like the ones I pick and it seems like it is old by looking at the color.
Probably is an oyster, but from the pictures Im not giving the 100%. And I pick and eat a bunch of wild shrooms. Plus, I'm not as familiar with alabama species.

Do not eat that !!! It has fins underneath……do not eat !!! Im not sauing he should eat or not, but the gills underneath have no influence. Several edible mushrooms have gills.

My daughter says it looks like an oyster mushroom but doesn’t have the typical gray color. Also looks like a chanterelle but she says they don’t grow on logs and the gills are different. She said it could be a jack o lantern, which is poisonous.

If you start hallucinating after you eat it, try to stay calm and just enjoy the ride. Youll be back to normal in a couple days. Nothing worse than a bad trip.

When in doubt, eat it and find out.

It was pretty tasty. A hair tough, probably because it was older and late in the season. Will let y’all know if I start seeing pink elephants Veiled Mishroom

All mushrooms are edible, once. If that’s an oyster it is past it’s prime. This is an oyster that I picked. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/jwx572m6/8-E95-A6-B4-4-FFF-41-BF-B496-1-BD3-BAA04-C87.jpg) More oyster that I found. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/50xVWh5M/D2-A3-CE68-73-A7-493-F-9-C52-FF7611-A6-A1-F8.jpg) Here are Chantrelles I picked this spring. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/pd59nn3d/D0781-AE3-6-E35-4-A1-C-88-C4-551310-DB9935.jpg) Here is a large Lions Mane I found. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/G3x4YRgv/826-E21-D6-0-BCB-4-C1-E-94-EA-4-FE9799-F7-F61.jpg)
