I usually just sit in a Turkey chair and use my knees for a rest. Only move at the right time and no blind is needed. I have Killed a bunch of deer like this. This is the main way that I hunt now, but I keep one of those roll out cloth blinds in the turkey seat. It weighs next to nothing and easily fits in it when I am carrying the seat on my back. I don't always roll it out and set it up, but it's with me if I think I need it. This is a pretty comfortable setup and it's miles safer than an old man climbing a tree. Still, I think it is a handicap when compared to a tree stand. It depends on the particular setup, but many times there is enough brush that being on the ground makes it hard to find a clear shot.
All the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.
