Some of the boys in my sons 6th grade class at Kingwood Christain school is wanting to start a archery club. They went to the school and asked if they could. All they have to do is find a coach (probably me) and find a way to buy all the gear. How do i find info on getting one started.

If you're talking about starting a NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) you need to have a certified instructor. You can contact the DCNR and they can get you in touch with the people to get it done. A NASP kit runs about $1800. It will have everything you need. I'm the president of the Tuscaloosa chapter of the Bowhunters of Alabama. We have had charity shoots in the past to purchase kits for Tuscaloosa area schools.

My wife is a certified Instructor. She is a PE teacher in Cullman County. It is normally handled through the physical education department at the schools. She has a really nice setup with about 20 matthews genesis bows, targets, backdrops, ect... With most schools safety is the main concern. All of the kids have to shoot the same bows which are basic genesis bows with no sights or accessories. They are fun to shoot but alot different than shooting hunting setups. I learned how to gap shoot with them.
