I don’t know about Lauderdale but I know Colbert has some stone cold killers that will shoot anything that moves night or day

I'm curious, if it's just to get a bigger sample size for testing, what are the outcomes when they discover it's spread like flurona? And on the flip side, what happens if they only find a few?

Just like the other states, if it's here, nothing you can do to get rid of it from my understanding.

Last question, then I'll hang up and listen, promise. Are they allowing guns everyday for the rest of season on these WMAs or is it just removing the seasonal limits ie 3 buck limit, no doe on certain days etc?

I’ve always heard that and honestly never a good thing. I know some of his family really well.

I'm hoping it's an isolated pocket. I don't think the positive is from Waterloo. Reading the regulation it's the wild west; no daily limit, no season limit, no antler restriction, and blast away. Seven Mile doesn't allow gun at all so that's something I don't know for sure.

(b) There will be no seasonal or daily bag limit restrictions and no antler
restrictions for deer (antlered and unantlered) harvested on Lauderdale Wildlife
Management Area (WMA), Freedom Hills WMA, Riverton Community Hunting Area
(CHA), and Seven-Mile Island WMA through the remainder of the 2021-2022 deer
season. Stalk Hunting Hunter’s Choice (either sex), as listed in 220-2-.56, will be allowed
daily through February 10, 2022. These changes do not apply to any other WMA or
CHA.
(c) WMA hunters will be allowed to hunt deer the remaining days of the
2021-2022 state regular deer season using any legal arms and ammunition (220.-2-.55)
permitted during WMA deer hunts on Lauderdale WMA, Freedom Hills WMA, Riverton
CHA, and Seven-Mile Island WMA. Small game hunting shall be prohibited for the
remainder of the 2021-2022 deer season on the above listed WMAs and CHA. Daily
WMA and CHA check-in and check-out will continue to be required.

Dang, with rut coming in there's gonna be a crap ton of deer killed. I don't think you could pay me enough money to walk in and try to hunt seven mile wma with guns gong off. People at McFarland may need to wear helmets and vests.

So, will they eliminate the retarded notion of deboning out of state deer now? I’m sure they won’t!!

There is a nasty rumor going around that the cases showed up in Tennessee as a result of positive deer being brought there to be studied and a tornado tearing down the fence. This was talked about at one of the meetings but none of the state guys would even acknowledge it, much less comment on it. It would certainly explain the sudden density and prevalence of it there.

I like your thinking. Anybody that has dealt with the ADWFF knows where I'm coming from.

Exactly right . High fence operation in hardeman co tn . Had deer transported in from other states. Fence got blew down in tornado few years back. Heard bout this alot . First reported cwd was there now its all over western tn . I work in tn for timber companys an go to logging schools where there is always a wildlife biologist there talking bout this.just went to one in counce a month ago. They will NOT answer that question bout the high fence operation . Claim they have no idea how it got to tn. But they are checking . Been 3 years they should already know. They said no telling how many deer in western tn has already been eaten by hunters with the cwd an no problems.

With Iowa waiting till after the rut to allow gun hunting for three weeks helps keep the population in check. They also have cwd permits for certain counties to allow late season doe only gun hunts.

CWD has been in western states for 65 years, at least. It has been in Wisconsin and the upper Midwest for 20+ years.

There is no known jump or connection with humans. Not a single case of "Bobby Joe got CWD from eating deer!" ever has been made. Could it? Maybe. Who knows. But so far it has not.

Tennessee's situation went from the area with the high fence to now all the way up to Tipton and Obion counties. Pretty much the western section of the state, and they will continue to find it as they move eastward. It's only a matter of time.
