I’ll say it like this, red birds, squirrels, doves, hogs, and deer were on my feeders all day the last two days. There’s nothing to debate imo.

There is also probably a link to cool/cold weather and hunter's willingness to sit there (especially if bundled up & warm) vs sweating your balls off and swatting at mosquitoes.
I know, my morning hunts early season (warm/hot weather) are usually over by 8:30 whereas I am perfectly happy to sit much longer when the temps drop.
Can't see'em if you ain't out there.

I use to hunt hard in hot weather and always think later - what the heck r u doing - kind of like hunting hard in December in Marengo or Clarke county - low % it pays off much b u sure do good job spooking your deer
And the pics were not blowing up lot here on the hot days - maybe some of the areas in the rut had success - our rut just thinking about starting
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

All I can say is on monday, I had deer hitting my feeder all through out the day. When it was warm, it was early am and late pm when they hit it.

For the last two weeks we have averaged 1265 deer per day being reported......During the last 24 hrs there has been 1713 deer reported for a 35% increase associated with the passing weather front. It could be more deer moving or more people in the woods. There was another 2,826 deer reported over the last 24 hr period.......a 123% increase over the daily average for the rest of the season so far iffin my maff is correct 2,156 for the last 24 hrs........tapering off from yesterday but still well above the daily average for the season

One of the stupidest threads posted. Bottom line, you like hunting while it’s hot, that’s fine, but I think most people in the country would rather not deer hunt in short pants and flip flops.

One of the stupidest threads posted. Bottom line, you like hunting while it’s hot, that’s fine, but I think most people in the country would rather not deer hunt in short pants and flip flops. I think this is an honest answer. I know most folks really do believe "cold temperature" is some magical switch (I don't), but I've long thought that it was really more of a subconscious association: "Deer hunting / Cold Weather" (This is why folks always say "It 'feels' like deer huntin' weather this weekend!") Most of us are slammin' hamburger steaks and gravy all summer, and it's rough totin' a Budweiser belly through 75 degree woods. Except for extremes (of which we seldom ever see during hunting season), I do not believe it's temperature. I believe it's the deeper atmospheric conditions that accompany the temperature change. Barometer, humidity, ambience, whatever. Might not have been like this everywhere, but earlier this week around my house it was in the upper 20s and heavy frost. This morning was 25 and no frost, and there were deer everywhere on my commute. It wasn't the temp, it was whatever caused there to be no frost (and we went up in barometric pressure overnight also). But chit if I really know, it just makes more sense to me.

Everyone's mileage varies (probably because of how and where they hunt). I personally see a tremendous amount of deer in October when it's 80+ degrees (biggest buck I've ever killed was at 1:20 in the afternoon on Halloween, it was 89 degrees on my mirror when I got out of the truck). I also see a lot of deer in January when it's 25 degrees. Then plenty of times I've had seemingly perfect days on both ends of the temperature spectrum, and not seen a squirrel. My point is I don't think it's the temp.
