SEMO you can still hunt him as long as the other side is attached you will have both. It would make a great story.

It is a shed. I’m guessing the deer in Missouri are already shedding their antlers and he found it today.
That would be correct (Im in MO now). Looks like he was touching up a scrape and went to rub a cedar tree in front of it. It fell off right in the fresh scrape. Easiest shed Ive ever found. The antlers on the buck I killed Monday were still solid though.
I've found sheds as early as mid december, but usually Febuary is more common. Got to be careful shooting antlerless deer with these "late" muzzleloader seasons up here.
