One of the best hunts I've ever had and I never even picked my rifle up. Had deer running does and grunting all evening

I saw a few this morning came out about 11 and got a bite to eat and warmed up. Decided to walk in about 1.5 miles to a spot that seemed promising at the back of my property and saw 7 just slipping thru on my way in. But the real story is I walked up about 20 yards from a nice young 7 point right in the middle of breeding a small doe next to a creek. I was thinking to myself, how romantic, that is until she saw me and tried to break and run. I just watched in amazement while they rolled around on the ground for a second like two dogs hung up. She ran off in the thicket with him not far behind. I gave him the ol “meh” just to get a glimpse of his rack and he pauses and looked dead at me. I’m not sure but he looked pissed and then ran off after her I assume in hopes to finish up what I interrupted. That was the first time I had seen anything like that in the woods.

While in the stand I saw several spikes as usual and a 4 point running a doe hard back and forth. Right before dark my dad texted me and asked if I saw one to shoot it because we were running low on smoked sausage. I had been watching 4 does graze around for about 20 mins so I picked the biggest one.

Long story short, had some awesome hunts this weekend even though I didn’t get the ones I was after. Made some memories and got some more smoked sausage. Sweated my butt off and froze my butt off and back to work tomorrow.

Workin for the man, huntin when I can.

Ended up seeing about 20 deer today including a pretty good buck. Just didn’t see the exact one I’m after. Back to work tomorrow. Hope y’all get some good ones this week. Congrats to those that connected.

Sat from about 1:30 till dark. Saw 10 total and all were bucks but one doe. One pretty nice 8. Shot the doe. On friends club and I already killed a ten point earlier this season, he’s only allowed one more buck so I was there for a doe and got it.

Ironically, he is only hunting for a buck and saw 28 deer, 2 of them were non shooter bucks, the rest does.
