Just imagine how much less hearing damage there would be in the hunting community if folks just used suppressors as a matter of course through their hunting careers? I wonder if it would be possible to get a law passed to allow this? Some states allow suppressors for hunting. My list may not be spot on but, OK, TX, TN, AZ and I believe GA now allow hunting with suppressors. Alabama finally got SBRs and SBSs legalized a little over a year ago. We are so far behind the times that if everybody stopped and waited we still wouldn't catch up.
Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.
