Buy a Kimber Hunter, have the stock dipped and the barrel cut and crowned. You choose your Camo and save a couple grand. Same rifle, pull the gel out of the stock and you’ll be as light or lighter. Here’s my 358 Win that started life as a Hunter in 243. Barrel chopped to 16” and rebored to 358 Win, forend shortened and remolded by me, and stock painted by me. Have less than 1k in it, and with scope and a full mag it’s just a hair over 5 lbs.

I read your full thread earlier today in fact, and it was very interesting seeing the whole process on what you did with the gun. Even saved it on my favorites. I may consider

The idea was born out of wanting an Adirondack in the whitetail woods. If Kimber would get of their butts and get rifles coming off the production line they’d sell so many!
