Plenty, and almost all of the ones who want to bad enough. Hell if you really run the numbers it’s probably easier for a lot of people that age to pay for clubs then it is their parents. Yea they may be on a low wage job but most times they have zero bills as Mommy and daddy are supporting them under their roof. In a matter of a century we went from people starting families at 16 to now you’re on daddy’s insurance until you 26. We’re doing great for the future.

Clubs are too often wayyyyy crowded from “family” memberships. A club with 10 people on a thousand acres could essentially become a 30 person club if everyone’s man babies hunt with them too on that one membership

That’s why smart clubs limit the deer per paying member….even the number of stands they can take up. I’ve been in numerous clubs where you could not have but 2 stands signed out as a member…..meaning if you had momma, daddy, and the 3 little bears….they all had to fit into 2 spots.

If each lil bear killed a buck over the season……Daddy was tagged out.

Most hunting clubs I know of have numerous cases of 1 paying and 2-3 hunting. When I leased land with my friends several of them had sons who hunted just as much as the paid members did. Throw in the retired guy who hunts all week with his guest and you get a lot of pressure and then the drama starts. I was in duck leases for years and was always told I was a good member to have because it was just me and a dog and a checkbook. My best hunting partner has 2 sons and when they got old enough to hunt on their own he would buy a membership for himself and one for them in deer or duck leases to make it fair. I have always believed the old saying that guests and sons have ruined more hunting clubs and leases than anything else. Best thing I ever did was lease a place myself and just take who I wanted when I wanted and whoever helped the the work got lots of invites. This allowed me to control pressure and that’s when we started killing really nice deer. I still lease a little and am in a duck lease but mostly hunt in my own places now. I’m starting to ramble but will close with this, one of our guys when we leased land had a daughter and every year for 4 years whoever she was banging at the time cane hunting with her dad and shot a small buck always at the peak of the rut and every excuse known to man was given. I’m still friends with the gut but we don’t hunt together anymore.

As long as the child was a full time student (including college) they could hunt with their paying parent under their parents membership. Full time being 15 hrs or more/semester for college age children, not a single college course while they were working. Children of members have to hunt in the same section as the paying member. Zero children allowed on the club without the paying parent present. Each member gets 3 bucks for his membership. If his kids kill them, then the member is done shooting bucks too. You accommodate families wanting to hunt with their children but also don’t end up with 2-3 members for the price of 1.

Agree w JStocks - limit deer killed and stands u can sign out - over 2 stands is a bit much

When my boy and I were in clubs - we sat together lot (he was younger) - otherwise 3 stands or more - charge second membership

Our club is 18. Member can shoot 3 bucks and 5 doe's. Spouse can shoot 3 bucks and 3 doe's and each kid can shoot 1 buck and 2 doe's. Kids can't be here unless member is.

Guests kills come off members total. I think we need a limit per member. Guests can come 3 times a year max and we charge a fee.

I left a club over retired members bringing guests for periods over a month. And I doubt there were guest fees paid.

Clubs are expensive to operate. Especially if you are soil testing and following it. Maintaining the fields year round is time consuming as well. I've probably spent 3k this year on seed, lime and fertilizer on top of dues, not to mention my time commitment. And tractor payment.

So I would not be happy if someone started fussing about their adult child having to pay dues also.

It needs to be really addressed in the rules. We had one member a few years ago that would show up with his 2 kids and wife and sign out 4 club plots every time. Depending on what the wind was doing, that was half the spots available for all the members to hunt. He was too busy to attend work days though. He's not with us anymore.

I’m a big fan of the one gun in the woods per membership. I Don’t care if it’s guests or family one gun in the woods solves all the issues.

I like that. I have my adult son coming in this weekend with my grandson for a couple of hunts. Grandson is too young to hunt so I'll be babysitting and letting him hunt. Still have to pay guest fees even though my membership will only have one gun in the woods.

I have a lease with a buddy. His son graduated this past year. He’s gone hunting with me more than my buddy lol. He pulls his fair share of work and is beginning to pay as well. If feeders need filling he will buy corn and feed them. Same as me and my buddy. Once he’s out of college we will split the cost into thirds.

I enjoy his company! Great kid whom I held in the palm of my hand when he was a premature born little boy. No relation but I’m his uncle if you ask him lol. I’ve enjoyed watching him grow up. He’s got a great mom n dad so he has good teachers at home. And at 19 he’s not afraid to hug my neck in front of his girlfriend or his friends.

Me and his dad started leasing property together in 1999. I reckon we will continue until one of us can’t (physically).

Ours is 21 and over starts paying. Member can only take 2 spots, guest kills comes off members allotment, plus guest fees. If guest kills a buck, 250.00 is paid.

Back when I was in clubs we had one guy had one membership and would bring his 3 teenage sons. So 4 guys hunting for the price of 1! Total bs. Man I don't miss those days with all the drama and bs. Seen dudes get in a fistfight one time too at the sign in board. Total chaos. Had one club pres. who was spotlighting and poaching at night and sold the club tractor and replaced it with an older one and pocketed the $ hoping no one would notice the different tractor.

Children that aren’t full time students are considered guest. 6 guest days per season. No guest before November 29th or after January 2nd. No guest during high water. All guest kills count towards the members limit of 3 Bucks / 4 Does per season
