1. If a gun has a single barrel, but only holds and fires one shot at a time, it is a single SHOT, not a single BARREL. 99.999% of all guns in existence are single barrels. A single shot, semi-auto, full auto, or pump are all single barrels.
2. Your kid shooting a deer is pretty cool, but it's not "what it's all about". Besides, you did all the work, they just shot a firearm, and shooting a deer is no special kind of accomplishment (just look at any of the Facebook hunting pages).
3. Clumped deer poop is not "buck turds". It's indicative of their diet, or that they were recently bedded.
4. Temperature has ZERO connection to, or affect on deer. It is not "too hot" for deer movement or the rut.
5. We are not in danger of "losing the sport if we don't recruit the next generation". Will never happen, Chicken Little. Frankly we have WAY too many people hunting.
