I didn't either until I used one a few times. I don't use it much on private property unless I want to hunt with my daughter and there is only one other stand in place. But I see it as being a game changer for me on public ground.


That’s where it shines. On leases ground I’ll just stick a lock-on or carry a climber.


It’s pretty nice on private ground. It’s a huge amount of work putting up and taking down stands every year, plus the disturbance of doing that, and the tendency to hunt a spot with a stand vs a new spot where you have to tote a climber. I avoid all that now. Got rid of most of my lockons and just use my saddle and spurs. I really think my tendency to try “unhunted” spots has resulted in me killing more good deer the last few years.
