Just had the same two dogs from yesterday morning come by chasing a deer again!!! These are not hunting dogs, one is a boxer not sure about the other, maybe I should let my pit run loose.

The internet is not the forum to discuss these issues. Being discreet is your best ally.

Shoot the damn dogs and kick the ass of anyone who disagrees with your actions. There is a spoken rule around my place. Put the dogs up on Oct 10th and don't let them out until Feb 11th.

Had the same problem at a small club in Selma years back. Tried to talk to the dogs owner but it
was like water off a ducks back. Solved the problem with three well placed muzzies. I could
really drive nails with a bow back then. Good old days. 👌

I’ve had problems with a pack of feral dogs a couple of years ago and I’ve had the neighbors pits trailing me more than once and I’ve had dogs show up on my trail cameras multiple times but what has been happening the past 2 days is unacceptable

The deer i hunt come from a holler about 1/4 mile in the woods near my foodplot. Theres a big cutover on the other side. Every day around 4:30 the dogs would intercept the deer in the hollar and the race was on. Five times there were deer in my foodplot and dogs came out of the woods and ran them off. Our deer went completely nocturnal after a few weeks of that. Went from seeing 20 deer in an evening to zero deer for two weeks. My son saw dogs running deer or patrolling for them every time he climbed a tree in the woods. It got really bad. Theres people hunting all around us. I knew it was just a matter of time before the dogs would disappear. Theres a whole new bunch of dogs this year but i havent seen them running deer. Maybe they wont.

Dogs are being dogs. If the owner doesn’t care what happens to them why should you.

This strikes a nerve because I lost a dog about a month ago. Dog was kenneled 100% of the time when alone. She busted loose and hasn't been seen again.

I don't want to believe that someone would shoot a collared dog that had my name and number on it. Dog was tame and a phone call would have rid someone of the problem. If I did believe that then there would be a scorched earth policy and I am here every day.

Never know of anyone shooting a collared dog. She probably got hit by a car or picked up.
Hopefully the latter. Either one is better then being in a cage.

The problem isn’t the one who wonders through out of the blue. It’s the ones who are there every damn day running deer and checking your fields for a hot track. Hopefully my buddy got the message the third time I said something about his. The other two will be dealt with at my place soon enough.

Yup. I can deal with the random dog that comes through that I might see once or twice a season, can't fault a dog for that. They all get out somewhere they shouldn't be at some point.

But there are dog "owners" out there that feel like the extent of owning a dog is feeding and housing it and that's about it, they couldn't care less where they go during daylight hours. I'm also convinced this is a passive aggressive strategy employed by folks that are ticked off at having folks hunting near their homes. It's amazing how one can run cameras year around and only catch dogs out and about during deer season. It ain't a coincidence, some folks keep em around so they are a nuisance on purpose.
