This is neither here nor there, but I constantly hear people talk about how much they love Ariats (maybe not for a true "work" boot but for a casual boot), yet Facebook marketplace seems to have a literal TON of them for sale locally at any given time...mostly "like-new" or "gently used"....That makes me wonder why so many people are buying them, wearing them briefly, then unloading them...

Try a pair of the carhartt slip on that has the black piece covering the toe. They are absolutely the best comfortable toughest boot I have ever worn. I bought 3 more pair $175

Ive finally wore out a pair that mainly get worn doing work at my land or out in the woods, wear them most days from oct-march whether its to the office or casual wear to field work. Ive had them for 6 years. As stated i do not wear them daily year round, but they have had some miles on them. Really great boots

I wear steel toe loggers. I've got a pair of Carolina on right now. Usually the failure is when something sharp cuts the leather on the safety toe.

All the "work boots" I have tried were crap, hurt my feet and didn't last. And I've tried about every major brand. Been wearing loggers for a few years now and the boots are typically better construction across the board as compared to what is passed off as a "work boot". Someone explained to me why they help with your feet and encouraged me to try loggers. I finally gave in and it's just changed my tune.

I have been wearing Durango slip on boots for the past few months. They have been good ones and comfortable. I have nothing to complain about with them.

Hard to beat a redwing Pecos for a true slip on "workboot" .. Not a comfortable boot but they're built to last.

Twisted X slip on. Used to wear redwing pecos till I tried the twisted X.

When I do steel inspections at power plants I will walk 20,000 steps a day. Carolina Boots seem to last the longest if we are talking about steel or composite toe boots. I like the round tow boots with the wedge sole.

Do yourself a favor and get a pair of the thorogood moc toe boots. Hands down the best boot I have ever put on my feet. Made in the USA, hold up extremely well, have a wedge sole that doesn't hold mud, and can be resoled.

Doc martins, hands down most comfortable boot. Lifespan depends, I get 9-12 months on gravel, clay, concrete (10-14 hours/day). 2 years in mud/grass or interior. Tried them all and imo most comfortable to price ratio

timberland pro = 6months, redwing 1.5years, irishsetter wingshooter moc toe 2 years. also had one pair of redwing last 3months before the soles split in two. the american Thorogood's are probably the toughest, but they are heavy.

To each their own But martins was the Worst and ONLY steel toes i ever owned that hurt my feet. Ol' boots back in the day from Walley World was better 😄

I wore non steel toe ariats for about 8 years and was lucky to get a year out of the soles but I think a lot of that was the grates that I walked on all day. Started a new job two years ago that required steel toe and most of my coworkers had Irish setters so I decided to give those a try. After putting high arch soles in them they were $280 but extremely comfortable on day one like the leather was already soft and broke in. Fast forward a year and the liner tears at the heal and it took some serious work to get my foot out of the boot. I was in a bind and needed another pair quick so I grabbed a new style steel toe Ariat to try. By far the most uncomfortable boot I’ve ever worn. I’m ready to go buy another pair of Irish setters and replace them every time the liner rips.

I wear Keen 8in lace up and they last me almost a year they last longer than any boot I've tried. The guys that wear Ariats get 6 mo to 8 mo. One bought Twisted X he got 4mo before they started coming apart. We walk through chemicals all day so this isn't normal working conditions

i bought mine b/c they'd been purchased for a kid & he out-grew 'em

I use red backs. They’ve lasted me 2 years but I take care them and clean them about every other week and put leather conditioner on them. Most comfortable boot I’ve ever worn.

I started buying Danner work boots about 3 years ago and won’t buy anything else. Lightweight and waterproof. Feels like I’m wearing tennis shoes all day. I went with the vicious 8” comp toe. Check them out. I’m out on right of ways and power plants all day.
