I used to raise some old English gamecocks many many years ago. By the first of July my uncle would gather up the young roosters for our 4th of July gathering. Those things literally wouldn’t quit fighting when they hit a certain age. I as buying some high protein feed for some pheasants I was raising and the guy behind me was buying some high protein feed too. He said his birds could jump over 6 ft with that feed but they liked fighting him. Took me a minute to realize what he was saying. He was quiet after I told him I had pheasants, Chukar and quail I was raising to train my dog.
