I know it is illegal to kill a raptor but I never knew a Great Horned Owl was a migratory bird. I also learned from this article that they attach knives to the cocks when fighting them. I always thought the roosters used their spurs.

No, they cut the roosters spur and depending on the match, it'll be a metal spur, short knife or long knife. The spur has different rules than the knives. The spur matches will consist of 2 spurs per cock, where as the knives will only consist of one blade generally tied on the left leg.

I once saw a "barrel of fun" fight in Wilcox county. They throw a feral cat and coon in a steel drum, slam the lid, and place bets on which one comes out alive. The cat won but didnt last long after cause it was tore up so bad. The betters all said it was usually a coin flip contest.

I never was into cock fighting but a lot of my friends were. I really didn't see it as bad as the government did. Those guys were competitive and put a lot of time and effort into it. The closest thing I've seen to it is travel baseball. The parents act the same way as those guys did.

Cockfighting - dog fighting --- I see both equally as bad.

Not me, I've seen one or two. It ain't for everyone. It's kinda beautiful in it's purest form. Without the sport, certain breeds will go extinct. Nobody raises game chickens except maybe some banty roosters.

If you ever go to Puerto Rico you’ll see stadiums devoted to the sport of cock fighting. It’s a big deal down there and of course gambling is legal throughout the territory.

I’ve never seen it and wouldn’t have any interest. Apparently my grandpaw was involved to some degree in the past. My cousin and I found his knives/spurs hanging in the barn years after he had passed and asked what they were.

I know I’ll sleep better tonight, knowing those evil Cock Fighters are behind bars. Are you Freaking kidding me? Is this all we have to worry about? I just watched a Tic Tock video of a tranny, or a boy in a dress, or whatever the hell it was. Win the homecoming queen crown. At a High school I think in Missouri. I believe I would rather they be fighting Cocks. Instead of, well you know the rest. Good Lord where are we living?

I knew a fellow that made a six figure income selling and shipping fighting cocks all over the world. He disappeared about about 10 years ago and never has been heard of since. Left a couple hundred birds , wallet everything.

It "ain't" for me, but.........
they breed horses to run fast. That means breeding them will skeletal structures too weak for their body size so that they will be faster.
They breed hogs to mature faster for slaughter
etc.

Those fighting chickens live better lives than any KFC chicken. You know they live better lives than the hoods where Popeye's raises their chickens. Imagine that place. Drive-by cage shooting every damn day.

I grew up around cock fighting
Had uncles on both side that were heavily involved in it
For the record they can fight natural spurs or trim off the spurs and strap on gaffs or knives
I see nothing wrong with this sport at all

If they can't tax it and it get kickbacks, they'll shut it down. And for the most part, they won't fool with you if there isn't a bunch of gambling. They'll probably try to hit them for untaxed revenue from him selling chickens, lol
"He sold a chicken for $800" That guy probably had $1000 in that one chicken if you add everything up, but they gonna get there's or send the revenue enforcement agents in.
