No, they cut the roosters spur and depending on the match, it'll be a metal spur, short knife or long knife.The spur has different rules than the knives. The spur matches will consist of 2 spurs per cock, where as the knives will only consist of one blade generally tied on the left leg.

Not me, I've seen one or two. It ain't for everyone. It's kinda beautiful in it's purest form. Without the sport, certain breeds will go extinct. Nobody raises game chickens except maybe some banty roosters.
