I agree with you on it just being human nature…..especially for males….We are programmed by default to be competitive…..It’s some instinctive cave men stuff……Males will turn anything into a competition…..One of the worst things we do to ourselves though is to allow that to dictate our enjoyment of hunting……I think most older men eventually see how silly it is and that’s why they don’t care if they show off a 150 or not……The reality of it for most people is that it doesn’t change their life one bit……It’s like the story about the tour bus full of Hookers and Blow pulling in after you finally kill one…..It aint happening…….Nothing happens……You get up the next day and put your boots on just the same as the day before but with a better screen saver. It’s like fools gold…….It doesn’t mean nearly as much as what we make it out to be and folks spend a lot of time stressing over trying to make it happen.
