Let’s say I got hired on with a $30 an hour wage and my insurance is $50 a month 3 years later contract comes up and they come up with $30 a hour and $400 a month for insurance and by the way the pension plan you payed into for the last three years for retirement has been done away with and all you have is your 401k. Would you have a chapped arse or what?
First, I wouldn't have a chapped arse because I don't care how much or how little you make.
Second, When someone hires on with certain hourly wages, insurance, retirement, etc. which is ALL based on a CONTRACT that is subject to change then that individual hires on knowing that there is a risk of everything changing AND that all change might not be what they like.
I've never worked for a union. I've never needed someone between me and my paycheck. "Unions protect worker's rights", "If it wasn't for unions we wouldn't have ____________." I would believe that if Unions didn't charge laborers $$$$ to be union members. A "union" is just someone between a laborer and an employer, someone who is threatening the employer and taking $$$$ from the laborer. Unions sound a lot like politicians to me and to be honest they are probably getting paid by both sides. Sounds like its always a win win situation for the union. Am I correct?
