Did the miners at Warrior Met agree to work for they pay/benefits they are receiving? If so, unless Warrior Met is trying to take that pay/those benefits away, what are they striking for?
I'm asking because I honestly don't know.
The Brookwood miners took major concessions after the owners of the former Jim Walter Resources looted the company and ran. Some of those same leaders acquired the assets of JWR through the bankruptcy proceedings to form Warrior Met. Part of the deal was to get the Court to invalidate the "lifetime" benefits of JWR employees who had accepted lower wages than would have otherwise been demanded in order to receive those benefits.
Now that Warrior Met is up and running strong, and making profits big enough to dole out million dollar bonuses to manages, the miners who played big part in getting them there are asking for increased wages, benefits and working conditions.
It's hard to understand why so many here can't bring themselves to support them under those circumstances. They call me stupid and ignorant because I choose to support them.
