I don't think we've ever met. Are you talking about me?

Eddie, one thing I'm fairly sure of is that you aren't a liar. Are you denying you are the former member, Eddie Maxwell?

I just hope the union has the miners best interest in mind , I mean that in all seriousness for their well being . As stated I grew up in a union house and it was good but when my dad was 55 he lost that job because the plant closed because they couldn’t get together . I support their right to strike but I also support the “ rich investors “ right to sell every penny of stock they own and devalue it and get out while they can .

Got news for you buddy. They/you aren’t the only ones getting stuff taken away. The term “fair share” is highly dependent and subject to change.

Unless federal mining regulations have changed tremendously in my couple of decades of absence, that can't be true. Only those miners directly involved in making a major air change are allowed to be underground during a major air change in the Brookwood coal mines. Ventilation plans may vary elsewhere. I doubt they have changed that drastically in the gassiest mines in the country in Brookwood. Unions play a major role in compiling those ventilation plans. It's not always about money and insurance. Safety is a major interest to the Brookwood coal miner. Allow him to educate you on that.

Never said he was at brook wood mines. He’s at Shoal Creek. Air change yesterday (he was off because he wasn’t part of that crew). Mentioned something about cable and power center in text. I assumed, could be doing routine PM/check. Don’t know I’m not there. I know one of those MSHA guys really well. You probably know him too.

Good post. You and I both support freedom and liberty.

I'm not sure most who have participated here understand that.

Folks I have moved on but what you small minded people don’t understand is I don’t like unions but I have worked for union mines for a lot of years I don’t anymore but for the union to even agree to a strike vote their were significant benefit changes for the worst and for someone to say all the company owes you is the wage they agreed on when they hired you well that’s somewhat true and somewhat false.Let’s say I got hired on with a $30 an hour wage and my insurance is $50 a month 3 years later contract comes up and they come up with $30 a hour and $400 a month for insurance and by the way the pension plan you payed into for the last three years for retirement has been done away with and all you have is your 401k. Would you have a chapped arse or what?

You've been off subject with most of your posts. The subject of the thread is "Coal miner's strike - Brookwood" and you've been all the way around the globe comparing oranges to apples tonight.

Did someone mention reading comprehension?

Run the mine for a year union then a year non union. That’s the only way to compare apples to apples. To many variables any other way.

Yes and if I was that upset I would find another job.

How about if I use the term "just compensation"? Would that lead you to KNOW I'm an extremely conservative independent leaning patriotic American constitutionalist?

That's a strange skill you have there.

The last 2 companies I worked for suddenly changed several things that I wasn’t comfortable with being completely honest about it, so I quit and got another job the first time and just started my own business the second time. Come to think of it, I’ve quit several jobs because I didn’t like how things had changed, didn’t try to hoid anyone hostage or shed a single tear either time.

Did the miners at Warrior Met agree to work for they pay/benefits they are receiving?
If so, unless Warrior Met is trying to take that pay/those benefits away, what are they striking for?

I'm asking because I honestly don't know.

That said, after reading hoggins contributions, It's scary how much we agree.
It's like he was sittng in my truck this afternoon when I tried to explain this to my daughter with the limited information I had on it issue. rofl
I have a union represented job. However for the last 31 years I've been fortunate enough to have never been a union member, because the AFGE is worthless

I did but do you think it’s right because several are arguing just find another job well that’s all well and good but sooner or later the working man will have to take a stand or you will be working for free no matter where you work.

Would you leave this country is you were not happy with its leadership? Is that your solution to problems... run away?

Some people have enough balls to stand and fight for what they deserve. It's a free country though. Your choice may not be someone else's. I'm glad there are those who are willing to fight. I've done a little of that myself at times.

That's not even close to the same argument....
