More specifically Religious beliefs vs spirituality Although these are 2 separate things, how connected do you think they are? Just something I'm pondering on due to fed workforce taskforce dates getting closer.

I would think religion is more about legalism or docterine and tradition, doing certain things on certain days and strictly believing in a, b, c. Spirituality on the other hand is having a connection with the Almighty. A persons spirituality is their relationship with the Lord. I believe there will be ALOT of religious people spend eternity in hell. I believe the best life any human can live is one focused as close to 100% as possible on spirituality, and a healthy relationship with God. If you can take care of that one thing, everything else will be ok.

Neither is biblical. Religion has sent as many to hell as unbelief. See the Pharisee's. Spirituality is equally dangerous. Biblical faith in Christ is the only boat floating.

A personal relationship with Christ is not religious, I would call it spiritual though.

If you are religious, it doesn't mean you have a personal relationship with Christ and accept Him as your Savior. To me, religious means you follow a group of people's (church/religion) views and interpretations of Him, with certain traditions or rules and traditions. You are religious if you actively participate.

Very well said, I agree 100%.

I was religious growing up, but I wasn't spiritual in the least way.

Being "Spiritual" can mean a lot of different things. While being filled with THE Spirit is another matter altogether.

Saul had a religious relationship with God.
Paul had a spiritual relationship with God.

Sometimes we can't feel either in our lives and that's when Faith has to take over and we trust that what we believe is right.

This may offend.

Spiritual is good.
Religious is not.

Spiritual people are helpful. Religious people are hurtful.

The story of Cornelius in the Bible is a good response to this question.

In considering the story of Cornelius in the Bible, it is important to note that being religious is not enough to save a person. Cornelius was as devout as they come, and he worshiped the one true God. Yet he still needed to hear the gospel and respond to it positively.

Spot on.
Transformation is the indicator.

From Religion can come spirituality ,,, yes/no ? ,,,,,We know religion has been dividing people ever since it's creation . We have looked at all the different denominations ,sects and cults that are born out of religion,,,, we also know some religions are very peaceful and teach love and understanding while worshiping our God and Christ or a superior super natural being , we know that some religions are so violent there are no moral guide lines or codes that forbid to just what amount evil they will do . Spirituality to me is the amount of attention and observance one pays to the rituals and codes of their religion...

I'd agree with this. The line between religion and spirituality is so blurred. I know lots of people who "believe in God". What they really mean is that they give intellectual assent that God exists but they live in such a manner that shows that they really do not. What they lack is a surrendering of their life to Christ. "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
John 14:6

Jwalker, the problem is that ALL of the religions see themselves as spiritual and the definition of "spirituality" is simply having a concern over the human soul. JW, Mormons, whatever, all see themselves as spiritual.

I would argue that the biggest divisions have come from the absence of religion. Mao, Stalin and Pol Pot murdered tens of millions once they were able to remove religion from the public consciousness.

I gave no consideration to what some might consider themselves. The statement i made is the truth.
