Been there for minor things with my kids , just to watch them and being pulled around in the red wagons like miniature gurneys is gut wrenching.

Been there. I was one of those kids 31-32 years ago. Rarely will you find me in a bad mood. It’s cliche but life is way to short to fret the small things. I never once felt sorry for myself, my parents would NOT let me. Everything in life happens for a reason. Sometimes those reasons don’t make sense, sometimes it’s years later before you realize why. ENJOY LIFE!!!!

A lot we over look and fret over that we shouldn’t. Hope y’all have a good’en It makes my guts churn to see the TV commercials for St. Jude's or Children's. Not sure I could go. God bless all the children, families, medical staff and volunteers.

My wife works at Children's Hospital. We thank the Lord each day that we have been blessed with healthy children and pray for those kids that are not. There are truly gut wrenching cases and those that inspire at that hospital. The doctors, nurses and staff that work there want to be there and want to do good. It is a special place.

It was a swift kick in my pants to think that I would complain about our situation while knowing I had a 99% chance of carrying my daughter out to live a normal life. Thanks for the reminder. May we all keep life in perspective.

My wife works at Children's Hospital. We thank the Lord each day that we have been blessed with healthy children and pray for those kids that are not. There are truly gut wrenching cases and those that inspire at that hospital. The doctors, nurses and staff that work there want to be there and want to do good. It is a special place.

49 years ago x-wife had a car wreck (not her fault) when she was 7 months pregnant with my middle son. He received brain damage to the part of the brain that controls all muscle movement of the right side (simple explanation). From the age of about 11 months to 13 years of age seventeen surgeries later he was able to walk look straight ahead and with a lot of practice tie his shoe and button his own shirt like all the other boys. Crippled Children’s and Saint Judes were a life saver. He’s 100% disabled but has learned how to be on his own and take care of himself and manage his life as well as can be expected considering his limitations.

My wife also works at childrens and it is a calling for sure. Takes a strong person to see those sick children on a daily basis. I couldn't do it.

We used to do a lot of work down there before Covid hit and they pretty much shut down construction unless absolutely necessary. There have been many times I have gone there in a bad mood and left with a more humble attitude.

Spent 3 weeks there earlier this year with my youngest after a spinal/soccer injury, gut wrenching experience to say the least. We learned as a family to enjoy and appreciate every minute of every day, as it can all be taking from you in a split second. Focusing on the small, incremental improvements is how we learned to approach it mentally, one day at a time.
