49 years ago x-wife had a car wreck (not her fault) when she was 7 months pregnant with my middle son. He received brain damage to the part of the brain that controls all muscle movement of the right side (simple explanation). From the age of about 11 months to 13 years of age seventeen surgeries later he was able to walk look straight ahead and with a lot of practice tie his shoe and button his own shirt like all the other boys. Crippled Children’s and Saint Judes were a life saver. He’s 100% disabled but has learned how to be on his own and take care of himself and manage his life as well as can be expected considering his limitations.
