I did the trail in 2017. Both the big distilleries and the micro tour. I enjoyed both but the micro/craft guys were my favorite. Saw a lot of Kentucky as well. Looking back, I’d skip the outermost if you aren’t going to be passing close by. MB Roland way out in Pembroke has some interesting ‘shines but they’re nearly to Paducah. The place just south of Cincinnati was not of much count. Most of the big and small options are either clustered around Bardstown or Louisville. If you go to Louisville, I suggest Peerless and a stop at the Troll Pub under the bridge.
