Anybody got a well maintained 1st Gen 4Runner they wanna split with? Not interested in rust buckets, mud boggers or rock crawlers. Shoot me a PM if you have a lead on a nice one.

Rare as hens teeth and higher than the grocery bill when you find them. Good luck.

I agree. Tops came off a lot easier on those 80’s models than current ones

Either / or. Budget isn’t unlimited, but willing to pay for quality. Saw an elusive turbo on CL that was very nice, but it was $20k. Not dropping that much for sure.

As stated, 84-89. Some were straight axle fronts, others were independent front suspension. Some were 4 cylinders, others were v6. Some of the 4 bangers were carbed, others were fuel injected. Automatics and manuals, and different trim levels in all. Lots of options. Rear tops came off all of them.

I looked at a weird vehicle in the summer of 1982. Toyota was going to put out something like the Bronco or Blazer (we didn't know what an SUV was back then). This was a prototype they were thinking about. It was the Toyota pickup, with no wall behind the seats and a rear bench seat and a fiberglass top. One of the welders at BE&K Pine Hill mill project was driving it, and staying at the Bassmaster Inn down there. It was in the parking lot all summer. My recollection is that he had a brother that worked for Toyota, and he was testing it long term. It was, of course, the earliest version of the 4Runner.

Trekker, 4 Runners daddy.

"Why do you ask"?

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.
