Whatever system you go with get an extra external loudspeaker/alarm...one that will get your neighbors attention/annoy them enough to give a darn.
Yep. The police obviously would prefer silent alarms, but if you want to protect your stuff, this is a way to go. Another thing I'm seeing now is having blue lights on top of the siren. When it goes off, it looks like the police are already there. The bad dudes haulass.
