263 yds. 270 win. Sighted in at 100yds. Aimed for top of back. Double lung shot You hold top of the back for a 263 yard shot with a 270? Yes sir, the bullet I was using dropped 7.5-8” at that distance.

Shot one with 300 win mag one time at 376 yards and dropped him after missing him twice at about 225 yards… it was pure luck for me, probably the wouldn’t have shot if I would’ve ranged it before the shot

Killed a bunch around 3-350, but around 425 is the farthest. Past that and I’m too shaky
Everything woke turns to shucks

Yes sir, the bullet I was using dropped 7.5-8” at that distance. Fuzzy, I think my wording was confusing. I guessed the deer was 325-350. If one is past 100 yds, I am very inaccurate at estimating range. I only learned the exact yardage after he was dead. I hardly ever set up where I’ll be shooting over 150 yds.

Little over 500 yds, Leupold VX3 3.5x10-40 on a Winchester mod 70 in 270win. Bean fields and CRP in Sumter county learned me how to shoot long range. Lots of practice helps.

I don't practice shooting long range, so I wouldn't shoot at a deer over ~225yards. Longest shot was ~190 on a doe. I don't know.

Longest a touch over 300-yards. Most shots between 100-175 yards, or closer.

You can shoot out the the maximum point blank range of your rifle 300 +/- yards doing nothing if you sight the gun in properly. That's a LONG way for someone that doesn't shoot more than once or twice year.
I've shot a pile of crows and groundhogs at 1,000 or a little more with a 30-06 Winchester Model 70 sporting a Unertl scope with standard crosshair. That's about all I did growing up. When the corn was sprouting I'd be on overwatch. I was fortunate to grow up like that even though it ended too short. What would the liberals say today about a kid who's world revolved around a 3 wheeler a long range rifle and a reloading press.... at age 10.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I hit a swimming beaver at 150yds with a 22LR. That just sounds wrong. Quartering shot, or through the uprights?

I hit a swimming beaver at 150yds with a 22LR. I killed a swimming snake in the head at over 100 yards across the Warrior River just above Lock 7 with a 22 pistol. your turn....
