Just curious if anyone has taken the Shingles vaccine.
My wife and I took the first injection about 2 months ago and had fever/achiness for a solid 24 hrs after. Second dose is due and supposedly less reaction for some and worse for others.

Any age but the older you get the worse the shingles are if you get them. Watching a neighbor that is just getting over them. He had it rough

My dad had it really bad
He had it on both sides of his body which is extremely rare. He also had it for at least 10 years which was another rarity. All his docs were intrigued to the point of not believing until they saw the sites on his body.

Ive egotta get vaccinated for it.

Not yet, I haven't, did talk to them at the Pharmacy. They told me to wait until I had the following day free, in case it gave me troubles. Said it was fairly common to really feel bad afterwards.

Thanks for the thread, I thought it was a one and done deal, didn't know it was 2 shots.

Had both shots. A little under the weather on second but not much.

Shingles is miserable from the people I've talked to that have it, so I definitely don't want long term shingles. Simpler to get the vaccine and suffer through a few days.

I’ve had the shingles, the 1st shot that was a single shot and then the 2 shot series.
The shots made me feel rough with some fever but nothing like the shingles.
I had rather take the shots every year than have the shingles 1 more time!

Can vouch. Had them when I was 29. Coin toss as to whether shingles or a kidney stone is worse. Shingles probably worse because it lasted longer. Both were pure misery.

I’d have to look at my calendar but I think the second shot is 60 days from the first. I did see it pop up that I’m due next Monday. Not looking forward to it

Buddy of mine got them and he’s the most laid back guy I know. It’s nerve related and I’ve heard it can be brought on by stress

I give several doses each week. It’s a two dose series with the second shot 2-6 months after the first. Some people handle it fine and others say it’s pretty rough on them. I’d much rather take the vaccine than deal with shingles again. I’ve had them twice before I turned 30 and neither time was pleasant.
