Well they have started doing random Covid test Monday. Was told that if you refuse they will let you go. Tuesday afternoon I hear about a coordinator refused and was sent to HR. The coordinator was not at work Tuesday. What's yalls thoughts?

Hmm, random covid test they stick something up your nose, literally takes 15 seconds or drive to an offsite location and pee in a cup for random drug test. It does sound like an infringement on our rights, but an employer is also protecting their investment. Would you rather the employer make covid vaccines mandatory?

I don’t understand the random testing? If I was going to test I would test all , maybe once a week or every 2 weeks . Or maybe leave it to the individual. Not random!

Yeah the random testing doesn't much make sense. Then again, neither does much of anything else related to covid/testing.

Probably random test those that show signs of possibly being sick. If you are hacking, sniffling, etc probably be tested. People tend to come to woirk sick because they can't afford to take a day off financially.

Not necessarily people who are showing signs or acting sick, seeing more like the ones who have not vaccinated.

I would rather be tested than forced to vaccinate.

Testing is no big deal. Like someone else said, they are protecting the work force. If one person gives it to 5 others, that is hurting the workforce. It is the world in which we live right now, but as I stated earlier, I would rather be tested and sent home for 10 days than be forced to vaccinate or be sent home permanently.

That would classify as discrimination. Those vaccinated can still infect the un vaxed so they would have to test all or be subject to a suit I would think.

Don’t know about this stuff happening. Let’s say you are 30 years old. Covid has a small chance of making you real sick and virtually zero chance to make you bad sick or worse. So, you catch strep or flu or a stomach virus from a co-worker and you actually get really sick - cause that’s happening at some point. Well - why didn’t an employer test for that all the time to keep you safe? Where does it end? Just more politics for sure.

There are companies (mine included) that have different rules for those who are not vaccinated.

Employees who are not fully vaccinated (including those with medical or religious exemptions)

o Must wear a mask indoors at all times unless in a private room or private office and alone.

o May have no unmasked interactions with other employees, including in the cafeteria or breakrooms. Food services is opening the seating area in the cafeteria at night to allow additional space for unvaccinated employees to eat socially distanced.

o Will be subject to periodic Covid-19 testing.

With the surge of Delta, my work is testing ALL employees before returning to work. Of course, we don't all come in on a daily basis - 99% of my crew work 14 days on 14 days off, so they get tested once a month before going to work.

Typically if you have a stomach virus or truly have the flu, you will not be at work, Bronchitis probably isn't contagious. There are several on here that are pretty sure they have it because the whole family has it but, because they feel pretty good , they are going along like nothing is wrong.
