Got a call about an hour ago that my truck is ready. Asked them what they did to fix it and was told they flushed the transmission with 20 qts of Mobil-1 Synthetic ATF and refilled it. I asked how the old fluid was supposedly the culprit for the issues I was having? "Not sure, just going by the service bulletin we were given."

Just my opinion, but I would pawn your truck if the trans works and get something else. I took my 02 Tundra in for a transmission flush and provided them 12 quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic trans fluid. The trans gave up the ghost not much longer after. I replaced it with a used one, not a good idea and then finally bit the bullet and added a reman toyota one. Now all I do is drain the pan and top off the fluid with synthetic trans fluid. I have 372K miles on the truck and you should see the dudes at Tire Engineers pucker when I take it in and ask them to drain the trans and add new fluid. I pulled boats with it, my ATV, trailers, and even my tractor. No issues. They go, does it slip? I said no. You are welcome to go drive it first and make sure its ok. LOL!!

You will never ever convince me a transmission flush is a good idea.

Trucks are crazy insane if you want 4WD. When I was looking a couple years ago $25K would get you a used silverado with over 100K miles on the clock. The new trucks are nice, but I don't need all these bells and whistles, and I am sorry, but I don't want a factory head unit either. I want a Kenwood. And I want an amp, better door speakers and sub's somewhere. You think a factory system sounds good, until you put a really good one in.
