I really don’t understand what sykes does with all the money he’s rounding up. Record license sales + corn permits should mean plenty of money floating around the department. Yet we don’t have any game wardens and our public lands are shrinking. Heck, we’d be completely screwed in this state, if it wasn’t for federal lands. Where I live there not a single piece of public hunting within an hour radius. There’s tons of places across the state that you can draw a 100 mile circle and not have any public land. I guess what really chaps my azz about it is between all the forever wild pieces that they won’t let you hunt, and all the land that the state leases out to hunting clubs, we could add hundreds of small access public lands around the state. Instead, we are raking in record dollar amounts and all we get is 5 full time employees at Portland landing, highly managing that place so the director of ALEA and the attorney general can go turkey hunting….
