Yesterday, I found out just how big of an a$$ I can be and it embarrassed me something awful. This week has been crazy busy. The latest I’ve gone in to work is 4:30 a.m. so to say I’ve been a little sleep deprived is an understatement. I get cranky when I’m tired. I was heading to a job in Heflin and stopped in at Bucky’s for a sandwich to go. I’m sitting still with my blinker on, waiting for a couple of cars to pass so I could pull into a parking spot right by the door, next to the handicapped spot. Wouldn’t you know it, the last car in line wasn’t going to pass but instead was looking for a spot themselves. You guessed it, she pulled right into the one I was waiting on. When she did I laid down on the horn pretty good. I really couldn’t tell much about her other than it was a black lady. When she heard the horn, she turned and looked at me, obviously surprised. Then I saw it was an elderly lady. Then I saw four little heads pop up from the back seat. They were her grand children. Then I saw her handicap tag hanging from the mirror. Then I saw her two bumper stickers sharing scripture and encouraging a relationship with Jesus. She motioned that she was sorry and looked behind her to start backing up. By now I was feeling about 6” tall so I motioned for her to keep the spot and went and parked on the side of the building. As I’m walking up, I see how slow she moves physically. So now that 6” tall feeling shrinks down to about 4”. Then she looks and sees me coming. I think to myself, Lord I hope she doesn’t recognize me. No luck. She waits on me to get there and starts apologizing to me telling me her mind was elsewhere since she had her four grandkids with her. She had to have been at least 75 years old. I tell her not to worry about it and apologize to her for being impatient. She tells me that she just wants to treat people right and love everyone. She moves so slow that, without even asking, she actually reached out and took a hold of my arm to stable herself while corralling her grandkids in the door. Yeah, now I’m down to about 2” tall. Needless to say I left there with a different attitude and not so cranky. Grace. We all need to show it a little more.

Good story. Yes we all need grace.
Was there not a handicap spot available? Just wondering why she didn't park in one of those spots. Maybe the Good Lord was just teaching you, and me, a lesson.

I hav lost my temper too many times over the years and usually feel stupid afterwards
Jesus came into the world with love and humility to serve - we serve mostly ourselves
Heard a preacher preach on temper one sunday and how a bad bout of it could put you in jail in a very quick hurry

Lmbo!! That's the funniest thing I've heard all week... yeah we all need to get and give grace every now and then. I had one of those moments leaving publix last week after getting stuck behind a dang coupon lady.. dropped a few words walking through the parking lot (hopefully nobody heard) that I haven't said in a long time. That's not who I am. Just wore out and happened at a bad time..
