I didn't realize there was a problem until I logged in here yesterday afternoon. I made the big trip to Hartselle twice yesterday and didn't notice any lines at gas stations.

out of curiosity, what is the fine/punishment if one were to, hypothetically, do just that?

Buy it at today’s moderately inflated price or later at an even more inflated price…inflated at least until the pipeline is back online.

This morning's commute was a joke with roads clogged from people in line to get gas. saw several trucks full of gas cans and guys filling them up. It is a bit depressing to see people act that way.

Saw a pic someone took passing a station with a couple that has 8-10 new 5gal gas cans stacked in the back of their Pacifica….cut the zip tied spouts, fill, and cap, rinse and repeat.

It will probably get out of control. COVID has conditioned people to react (overreact) to fear, so don't be surprised if stations run out of gas in the coming days.

This attack happened on the 7th, but people are just learning about it now.

I've got one of those transfer pumps that works off a drill. If it gets real bad I'll just have to figure out where the local politicians live. laugh

Pretty much, except with toilet paper you can “make do” with a range of alternatives…lil more involved with gasoline to “make do”!

I didn’t fill up extra tanks or anything, but just like I do before potential storms or whatever that may disrupt supply for a little bit, I did top off the tanks. I don’t like being without (wether it be water, fuel, food, or toilet paper.)

We stopped at the Flying J in Hope Hull last night on the way back from Wetumpka and filled up our 2014 Santa Fe. This morning we went to pick up the F-250 from the shop after having some modifications made to it and DoA stopped and went ahead and topped it off on the way home. Then, when he went to the dentist he drove the 2008 Santa Fe (which he has been driving to work each hitch) and he topped it off as well. In a little while we will go attempt to get some non-ethanol for the mower and generator. All that being said, it isn't any different from how we usually buy fuel. Living in hurricane country we do tend to keep spare fuel on hand anyway, so we just keep it rotated so it doesn't go bad.

I've been on the road and haven't noticed anything. Last stop was Pearl MS yesterday and there were plenty of open pumps.

Gas stations in Montgomery looked packed this morning. I had to top off the tank this morning in Luverne which was a lot more complicated than usual.
