Thanks for the feedback. I think I’m going to try the dewalt. I’ve got several Stihl tools and as far as I’m concerned they are the best. I’ve ran a stihl pole saw a fair amount but no more than I’d use it it’ll just sit.

Buy the biggest Stihl.
Have had mine for over 15 years.

Agreed on the Stihl, great tool but it will wear you out. I bought mine before battery stuff was a thing so I had no choice. If I bought again I'd seriously look at electric.

I second the 40v Kobalt. No complaints at all other than having to keep the chain tightened. Can't beat it for the money, would do it again.

I've got a 20+ year old poulan pro that cuts like a knife through butter. It also weighs about 20lbs.
I have used a Ryobi and would buy it. if mine ever quits.

I have the Dwalt 20v. and love it. I use the 20/60v flexvolt battery that came with my Dwalt blower and it will flat cut for a long time.

These battery lawn tools have come a long way. I have seen several YouTube videos on battery powered chainsaws and they are impressive.

I have a Stihl and it will make you sleep on your side of the bed. For some reason when I cut a limb it falls right towards me no matter where I stand.

The hell with gas, get a 40vlt Kobalt. Been using mine for almost 4yrs now and no complaints.

You have to be careful how you hang it up for storage and I always loop a plastic shopping bag over the bar cover to catch any leaking bar oil. It performs great and is lots lighter than my Stihl gasser.

Get a Silky hand powered pole saw. It beats any gas saw I’ve ever used. 3 tugs and it’s through most limbs and you don’t have to deal with weight, can extend higher, and best of all, no premix. Don’t knock it til you try it.

I have the Kobalt 40 weed whacker too so I use its battery as an extra one and can get a lot done with it. Great little dependable no maintenance tool IMO.

That stihl extendable gas one will wear your ass out! I have an echo gas that isn’t extendable but I can work for 5x longer before taking a break.

That’s the only complaint I can come up with on my dewalt pole saw. The 60 volt chainsaw leaks also, but that thing flat out cuts!

we bought a 40v Kobalt but a day or 2 later I broke my dang arm, so I haven't been able to run it yet....gets good reviews though. Plus I already have the 40v weedeater and blower so a 3rd battery and charger is great.
Pretty much my story minus the broken arm. For occasional use it has worked well. Batteries have come a long way. I'll always keep a 2 cycle chainsaw around for the same reason I have a generator but with everything else I have switched to 40v. I even have a 40v chainsaw that gets the day to day work. I run the 2 cycle just enough to knock of the dust in case the day comes I REALLY need a saw. Being able to hear a rattlesnake over the sound of my saw has already proven to be useful.
