But in the USA 75% of black children are born out of wedlock, 50% of Hispanic children are born out of wedlock and 30% of white children are born out of wedlock. There are no fathers there. Not real ones. And the divorce rate is 50%.

I'm 50 and my generation couldn't hold a candle to my fathers generation. Him and most of his buddies / family literally worked themselves to death. But you're right , the work ethic in this country ( except for the Mexicans ) is in the toilet.

The American economy has changed and the worker changed with it. Social Security, Food Stamps, Free Lunches, Pell Grants... all that is nothing new. What happened is the middle-class son realized there are easier ways to make a living.
My brother-in-law is 34 and the hardest working man I know. He is a welder and travels all over the South on projects. He makes shucks... I think $35 an hour. That's $72K a year. Try to raise a family on $72k a year... if your wife ain't working you are broke.
On the flip side, a project I was on a couple years ago.. they were paying graduates from Alabama and Auburn $65 an hour if they had computer programming degrees.
I guess he wasn't getting any overtime, then. The welders I know all make bank! But, $35/hour is a dang good wage in our part of the state, too. I guess it depends on your perspective and how lavish a lifestyle one wants to live. I was thinking the same thing. He ain't working that hard as a welder if he's only working 40 hours a week travelling. There's also per diem. You can about double that $72K as a welder in the oilfield if you're a decent welder. I'd never go on the road welding if I were only getting 40 hours/wk.

I have seen way to many men of my age raise sons who are pussies! Can’t handle anything, no work ethic, never had chores, just sat around playing video games. Now they are out of college and do not know what to do or how to fend for themselves. I was hard on my boys but easy on them compared to my father. The Mexican culture shames those of us InThe U.S. Hard working people there!
Hunting brings out the worst in people.

Not real ones. And the divorce rate is 50%. My wife's a second grade teacher. In her last class of about 17-18 kids.... 3 or 4 had both mother and father at home. Sometimes divorce isn't a choice and I'm not bashing anyone that's in a situation they never asked for, but those numbers are not uncommon and this is a major factor as to why we are in the condition we are in as a nation. Another sad stat is that the divorce rate inside of the church ( people who identify as Christians ) is no different than the one in the world. That just shouldn't be that way.

What y'all are saying about the Mezzicans is true as long as they are living under the conditions that make work a necessity. They will work 90% of 20 year old white kids right off a job site. Many folks who "identify as Christians" nowadays couldn't tell you what the inside of a church looks like.

If he's traveling all over the south on projects, he should be getting per diem also. If he runs his own welding rig (truck, welding machine, etc) he should be getting an hourly rate for them also. That's where the $ is made. I deal with welders all the time and don't know of too many that's going to run the roads and be gone from home all the time for only $35/hr

So he does really well but has no life. His base salary is still $72K. No one wants to work these days, you are correct. No one wants to work 65 hours a week in a trade to make $35 turn into 120k. My son is a nurse and he works 3 days a week and makes bank! He has a 4 year degree in nursing. He worked on a lawn service from 15 to 22 and he said nope... I ain't going to work this hard ever again. Leaning a trade is great if you turn that trade into a small business where you pay other people to be your worker. But if you are out there slaving in the Alabama heat for someone else....it's not worth it.

The kids are paying the price. I also agree with u Doe. My generation didn't ask for permission to go hunting when we had a wife at home with 2 kids under 5. These young dads now have to get permission and check-in every hour. But it's also the man's fault. We want to be King of the House but we don't want to act like a King. If you want to be the king, then you need to pay all the bills. Don't depend on your wife to help pay the bills then want to be the King.... you aint.
